“Ōkunoshima (大久野島) (…) is often called Usagi Shima, or Rabbit Island, because of the numerous wild rabbits that roam the island; they are rather tame and will approach humans.”
When I was in Japan I ate at Mister Donut whenever I saw one. In fact I even got a misdo card! They have some really great flavors, and their ‘Pon de Ring’ and their original glazed one is my favorite. They even had churros there which I was surprised by but not as surprised when I saw the FUCKING GIANT line for them at Tokyo DisneySea.
I also ate once at Krispy Kreme but it was pretty much exactly like the ones in the U.S. and I can get those any time… but when I was there they did give me a few coupons for free donuts and now I’m wondering if I should try to redeem them here, lol. You never know, sometimes you get a cashier who’s chill.

Takeshita dori on a sunday. the most crowded place I’ve even been. We were literally being pushed along by all the other people.
An umbrella cover dispenser sounds pretty hilarious, and I don’t need to leave my country to feel like a dumbass, I just have to go outside, anyways I’m jealous, did you find a lot of strange toys and things? or stores that sold nendoroids and figmas
DUDE. dude. They were fucking everywhere. Seriously, figure shops were everywhere. I found I great one in the big crazy shopping arcade in Kyoto (like everything in Kyoto, it ends at a temple, which I find hilarious) when we stopped there for a couple nights and I bought 2 GIANT Arceus figures to add to my collection, including one that I didn’t even know existed.
ANYWAYS the most popular characters they stock are by FAR the newest released ones and the ‘moe’ girls. I even saw 4 or so King Kazma figmas for the original price which I was tempted to buy and scalp because they’re going for like $70+ the last time I saw them.
Also if you like Madoka, Evangelion, One Piece, Black Rock Shooter, Railgun, Code Geass, Macross, vocaloid, Star Wars, vintage toys, or GUNDAM (Jesus christ, do they have a lot of gundam) Then these toy stores would have been your heaven.
BUT I COULDN’T FIND THE PRINCE SHOTOKU FIGMA ANYWHERE! I swear to god I looked fucking EVERYWHERE including EVERY MANDARAKE IN TOKYO but it was nowhere to be seen.
I think if you’re looking for toys between 2-8 years old, the internet is still your best bet.
As far as strange toys go I found a few (mostly hentai-related) but I definitely would have found more had I looked in the vintage shops, like the ones in Nakano broadway. I wish I could have spent more time there. Lots of old cartoon character bootleg toys in there that would give you nightmares because of how deranged and shitty they look. I wanted to buy some just for shits and giggles but I was running out of money and space in my luggage….
Also: how the fuck are you supposed to reply to a reply? I no good with computer…
It was pretty freaking awesome. But I guess that is a pretty expected answer.
This might just be because I’d never been to another country before this trip, but everything there was so different it was just cool walking around and seeing lots of stuff you have no fucking clue about.
Like umbrella-cover-dispensers.

I mean I saw these everywhere when it was raining, and I was like, wtf are these things? I literally had to stand there like some kind of creep watching someone use it to realize what is was and how it worked.
And I had to sit and watch people do a lot of other things too to learn what the fuck was going on like I sat in the Denny’s for like half an hour before I saw that they don’t bring checks to the table, you pay at the front. Also I watched a lot of people buy metro tickets.
Go to a new country if you want to feel like a dumbass.
I got back from Japan on Thursday but I’ve been having some technical difficulties with my new camera. And I’ve been too tired to fix them. But I’m working on it!
I’ll be posting pictures soon!
I’m not really looking forward to the 14 hour flight, but I’ll live.
I’ll be back April 5th.
And my list of what tumblr requested I get for them:
- pictures of houses
- pictures of pokemon centers
- delicious candy
- things like this
Also I’ll be taking tons of pictures and buying tons of stuff so get ready for the incoming posts.
I’m probably going to need to sell some stuff to make room for it all.
I will try not to be a filthy weeaboo. It’s sad because I feel like one…
Well mostly Tokyo but also two days in Osaka and Kyoto.
Just saying ahead of time that I’m not dead or anything because I’ll be gone for about 17 days, and I’ll be back on April 5th.
Yeah yeah going to Tokyo is majorly weeaboo but I’ve never been to another country so I figured that would be a good place to start.
I’m mostly going for the shopping (I love those little boutiques and thrift stores, going to check out the Volks store and DOLK, and Nakano Broadway sounds pretty badass) and I’ll be at the Tokyo International Anime Fair as well.
I just got my tickets for the Studio Ghibli museum as well. And yes I will be going to 4 different Pokemon Centers while I’m there. (Tokyo, Nagoya, Osaka, Yokohama.) Deal with it.
Probably won’t post anything in that time unless I have time to find some wifi, but I’ll be posting tons of pictures of everything when I get back.
Well, does anyone want anything from Japan?
